Simulated cut paper animation for the documentary film, My American Dream, on the life of comedian and actress Natasa Warsach. She dreams of moving to America to become an actress but has a for a rude awakening in this comedic and dramatic documentary.

After discussions with the director and subject of the film, we decided that the best way to support the story and create an over arching message for the film was to create an animated story told in four parts. In order to keep the Natasa’s theme “awkward but graceful” we chose a rough paper cut out style.

Director’s Statement
“My American Dream is a fun, and at the same time a heartbreaking, ride through the story of Natasa’s dream of coming to America to become an actress. I feel her story resonates with the human spirit of facing a challenge and overcoming the odds. Never give up on your dream.” – Rich Varville
